Of note this year compared to last year’s Round Robin tournament is that DC has opted not to include any Batman-related pitches this go-around. Tim Seeley & Baldemar Rivas‘s Robins team-up title won the tourney last year, up against a Suicide Squad pitch by Rex Ogle & Diogenes Neves.

Last year’s tournament was the source of a fair amount of online controversy, as the two highest vote-getters, the aforementioned Robins pitch and another one called JLQ (Justice League Queer) went head-to-head in the first round. Robins beat out JLQ in that round, but both books pulled in more votes than any of the other first-round books, leading many to question why the two titles had been put up against each other so early in the competition. A version of JLQ has since appeared in a number of anthology titles, including last year’s DC Pride special.

Voting for the first round of the new DC Round Robin tournament opens at 12:15 PM Eastern today, and runs through April 3rd, with round 2 beginning on April 5th and overall voting running through May 17th. Voting will take place on DC Comics TwitterDC Comics Instagram, or on the DC UNIVERSE INFINITE message boards.
